 Job Title: Sports and Recreation Officer
Location: Perth

Duties:
  • Provide strong leadership and work pro-actively with Aboriginal and Non-aboriginal people and other service providers to provide positive out comes to the residents
  • To work in partnership with the above partners to plan, prepare and deliver an activity programme for older adults living in the Stratford District.
  • To arrange meetings and consult with local community groups, voluntary organizations, SLM and SDC departments in order to support and extend the existing sporting & active recreation programme for older adults.
  • To establish a programme of lifelong learning opportunities such as exercise and training courses.
  • To promote and publicize the Active Communities Programme (Replay 50+Sessions) amongst, community groups, clubs and voluntary organization is the District.
  • To be responsible for the production of publications and publicity materials relating to the physical activity programme and assist with the development of the Council website and newsletters.
  • To produce a quarterly report for the Active Communities Network, to monitor and evaluate the physical activity programme. Reports to include user statistics and other monitoring / performance information.
  • To be aware of your responsibilities in terms of health and safety, including identifying at your appraisal, appropriate health and safety training.
  • To ensure that you approach your duties taking into consideration the principles of Best Value.
  • To carry out other duties and responsibilities of a similar professional or technical nature, which may be allocated as, circumstances demand.
