The plant operates on a 24 hour rotating
shift and is the second largest of Sydney Water’s 29 treatment plants. The
plant treats an average dry weather flow of about 330 ML/day discharging
through a deep-water outfall 4.2 kms from shoreline. North Head serves an area
of 452 square kms extending west to Seven Hills, south to Bankstown and north
to Ku-ring-gai and Collaroy and treats wastewater equal to that produced by a
population of 1.2 million people.
Responsibilities:
·
Develop plant plans consistent with Corporate
and Divisional plans together with providing operational knowledge in the
development of strategic plans, policies and procedures.
·
Provide operational oversight for the
development and commissioning of new capital assets and renewals to ensure they
are safe, operable and maintainable.
·
Ensure treatment and residuals costs are optimized
and improvement strategies are implemented to drive efficiencies and improve
business outcomes.
·
Ensure all regulatory requirements are met and
customers and stakeholders are satisfied.
·
Participate in Community Information forums and
External Stakeholder meetings as required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
·
Must have tertiary qualifications in engineering
or a related discipline or experience deemed equivalent.
·
Must have demonstrated people management skills
·
Must have the ability to mentor and develop high
performance teams and individuals.
·
Must have demonstrated experience in building
relationships (internal and external) to achieve desired outcomes with
demonstrated experience in emergency risk management.
