Job Title: Estimator
Location: Perth
Requirements:
- AutoCAD Proficiency, professional and confident skills
- Presentation skills and a pleasant telephone manner is vital requirement
- Minimum of 5 years experience within residential/ commercial window industry
- Exposure to V6 software package is desirable but not essential- training provided
- Fully conversant with builders
- Good all round knowledge of construction processes
- Able to accurately measure plan take-offs and detail specification
Responsibilities:
- Provide vital administrative support to the sales team
- Responsible for servicing major builders
- Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.
- Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.
- Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
- Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
- Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
- Review material and labor requirements, to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
- Review bid requirements thoroughly and asks follow-up question on every bid
- Has a thorough understanding of the scope for specific trades assigned
- Develops RFI's and clarifications and ensure adequate subcontractor coverage and shows interest
- Performs a comprehensive "bid day" analyst is and scoping of specific assigned trades
- Understands how to fit subs to the size/scope of project
