Job Title: Community Safety Manager
Location: Perth
Contract: 3 Year contract
Remuneration package: $ 163,000 per annum
Duties:
- He or she is responsible for the effective development and management of Community Safety and Ranger Services in ensuring the delivery of customer focused high standard I accordance with municipal law legislation and the shire of East Pilbara’s local laws and policies
- To monitor and report on community safety performance against agreed targets.
- To develop and implement the Unit Service Plan.
- To manage and monitor budgets allocated to the Unit.
- To develop data provision and information exchange between departments and partnerships.
- To keep abreast of developments and policy initiatives nationally and locally and formulate appropriate responses on behalf of the Authority.
- To represent the County Council in meetings with Government and regional agencies and other local public, private and voluntary/community sector organizations.
- To prepare and present reports to local and regional partnerships and Council meetings as required
- To lead the development and delivery of the County Council's Community Safety Strategy.
- To be the lead specialist community safety expert for the County Council, providing advice to elected members and Chief Officers.
- To be a lead advisor to the Derbyshire Safer Communities Partnership Board on resource allocation and strategic target setting.
- To lead work with partner agencies to reduce crime, the fear of crime and anti-social behavior.
- To develop initiatives and manage resources to support the delivery of community safety targets within the Local Area Agreement and the Public Service Agreement.
- To support the delivery of the "Safer and Stronger communities" block of the CPA and to provide support to other Chief Officers as appropriate.
- To manage the day to day operation of the Community Safety Unit.
Qualifications:
- Must have high levels of interpersonal skills and work ethic with the ability to foster, encourage and develop a participate team environment
- Relevant tertiary qualifications are essential along with demonstrated management experience in a busy work environment
- Previous Government experience although not essential will be well regarded
