Job Title: Senior Mine Geologist
Location: Booragoon
The main responsibilities of the Senior Mine Geologist include:
- Ensures adequate ore reserves for current and projected operations are established and maintained by participating in and coordinating ore design and estimation activities.
- Facilitates the preparation of ten and twenty-five year mining strategies by ongoing liaison with mine planning personnel.
- Contributes to mine production by designing bauxite ore bodies in accordance with equipment constraints and communicating tone and grade optimization strategies
- Ensures the effectiveness of mined bauxite grade control by liaising with mining and refinery operating and technical personnel to optimize bauxite feed to the refinery
- Contributes to the achievement of mining and processing objectives by setting up and maintaining systems that allow the efficient delineation and grade estimation of bauxite ore bodies
Requirements:
- Must hold a Degree or equivalent in Geology or Mine Engineering
- A minimum of 10 years experience in an operating mine.
- Competency in the use of mining software, in particular Ac Quire and Mine Sight will be highly regarded.
