Senior Mine Planner at Alcoa in Victoria



Job Title:  Senior Mine Planner
Location: Victoria

Responsibilities and duties:
  • The Senior Mine Planner is accountable for ensuring access to bauxite of known quantity and quality for both Huntly and Willowdale minesites.
  • The incumbent will work closely with State Government agencies and is responsible for producing and monitoring various mine plans including:
  • 25 Year mining plans on as needs basis for strategic directional guidance for Alcoa and Government agencies
  • 10 Year Mining Plans published annually for internal Alcoa planning purposes
  • 5 Year Mining Plans published annually for governmental approval
  • 30 Month Mining Plans for production planning
  • 10 Year Mining Haul Road Schedules
  • In put to upkeep of Mining Block data base
  • Monitoring of Haul Road design and construction schedules
  • Mining and Public interface strategic planning

 Job Requirements
  • To ensure your success in this role, you must hold a tertiary qualification in Mining, Engineering or related Degree or Diploma, with sound experience in operating mines and civil engineering projects. 
  • The ability to communicate at all levels is critical. 
  • You must be able to demonstrate your commitment to safety, production and technical practicalities, legal, social and environmental standards, costs and risk.
  • You will have the ability to build effective working relationships with a diverse stakeholder group. 
  • You will have a sound track record in pro-active problem solving at a strategic level including financial, risk analysis and practical planning and design.
