ICT Administrator at Startts in Carramar

The Role
  • The Information & Communication Technology Administrator who will be responsible for maintenance of the ICT infrastructure, provisioning, planning, installation and operations.
  • The ICT Administrator will work with key managers to develop and implement ICT solutions that meet STARTTS local and state-wide service requirements.
  • The successful applicant will be part of a multicultural and multi-disciplinary team.
  • Plan, implement and monitor changes in infrastructure configurations
  • Liaise regularly with staff of the Information Management and Technology Division (IMTD) of South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) in respect of operational, network and security matters when required
  • Install new servers and configure hardware and work with staff of the Local Health District to maintain the integrity and continual operation of network
  • Ensure performance of daily backup operations
  • Where necessary, re-engineer applications support to ensure it aligns with business processes and strategic vision.
  • Work with outside consultants and make recommendations for the improvement of the ICT infrastructure and ICT systems.
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/Benefit analyses for ICT spending and initiatives.
  • Direct research on potential technology solutions and implementations in support of new initiatives, opportunities, and procurement efforts in relation to both metropolitan and rural and regional offices.
  • Maintain provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.
  • Continue developing and implementing all ICT policies and procedures, including those for system architecture, security, disaster recovery and service provision.
  • Maintain security and privacy of the information systems and related company documents.
  • Develop, review, and certify all back-up and disaster recovery procedures and plans

Skills Required
  • Ideally you will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or in a discipline related to the primary responsibilities and/or equivalent.
  • You will be an experienced and highly motivated person with demonstrated experience in Information & Communication Technology.
  • Good understanding and technical knowledge of current network and PC operating systems, hardware, protocols, and standards.
  • Work with network components: Firewalls/VPNs, Anti-Malware, Routers, Switches, etc.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows configuration, installation, maintenance, and support.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows environments including Server 2008 R2, SQL 2008, Internet Information Services, and cloud applications
  • Experience in digital and IP phone technology.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Extensive experience managing and training ICT staff
  • Ability to work in multicultural environment, with minimal supervision and as part of a team

Regional Outreach Counselor at Startts in Coffs Harbor




Job Title: Regional Outreach Counselor/Project Officer (Coffs Harbor)

The Role
  • Primary duties will be to identify traumatized people in refugee communities in Coffs Harbor and northern NSW
  • Providing short to medium term counseling and referral service to refugee families, children and adolescents.
  • Provide support services to refugees both newly arrived and established, whose experience of torture and trauma is affecting settlement and other areas of their lives.
  • Provide a psycho-social and psychological assessment and referral service to refugee families, children and adolescents in accordance with PASTT contractual and other service delivery requirements.
  • Undertake training in use of the Refugee Comprehensive Assessment Tool (R-CAT) and utilize this tool when conducting assessments with refugee families, children and adolescents.
  • Support refugee families to develop a clear understanding of the issues which may affect them and their children, and to understand what services are available to them.
  • Develop and implement case plans in conjunction with refugee clients that will assist them to overcome psycho-social settlement difficulties, to manage their traumatic and psychological symptoms and to access relevant community resources.
  • Provide short to medium term counseling (an average of 8 sessions) to those newly arrived refugees whose experience of torture and trauma is affecting settlement and identify those requiring longer term support or specific interventions

  • Liaise with HSS Case Coordinators in relation to the health and settlement needs of newly arrived refugees and facilitate their referral to mainstream health service providers, the Refugee Health Clinic, and/or relevant settlement services as determined by client need.
  • Provide counseling for clients that have been resident in Australia for more than twelve months and for clients exited from HSS on the basis of assessments conducted.
  • Promote assessment and counseling services through an information strategy including community information sessions, printed information in community languages and community radio. This includes translation of relevant information regarding STARTTS services where appropriate.
  • Introduce newly arrived and more established refugees to other STARTTS’ programs specifically designed to assist people with their settlement process in Australia where these are available (such as the Families in Cultural Transition and residential programmes).
  • Ensure that a minimum counseling workload consistent with contractual obligations, service goals and financial accountability requirements are maintained
  • Prepare and implement an annual work-plan outlining goals to be achieved
  • Participate in team meetings, staff meetings and other meetings relevant to duties as required.
  • Participate in the evaluation of the effectiveness of services provided

  • Ideally you will possess tertiary qualifications in health, counseling, behavioural or social sciences.
  • You will be an experienced and highly motivated person with demonstrated experience in assessment and counseling in a cross-cultural context.

  • Demonstrated assessment and counseling experience in a cross-cultural context.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the issues affecting refugees in particular resettlement issues, and the effects of torture on individuals, young people, families, and communities
  • Relevant group work and training skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of the cultures and health needs of refugee communities in Coffs Harbor and Northern NSW.
  • Knowledge and experience in community development, community liaison and advocacy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

The Roles:
STARTTS is looking to employ an enthusiastic Receptionist/Administrative Officer with relevant experience to greet clients and visitors and provide administrative support to STARTTS based in the Carramar office.
  • Take down, type and distribute minutes for Staff and Community Development Meetings
  • Maintain orders and sales and send out reminders for the FICT Kit and games, “Eye of the Needle” Trainers Kit and Physiotherapy Manuals
  • Assist in sorting, opening, registering and distributing of incoming and outgoing mail promptly
  • Maintain STARTTS generic email daily.
  • Relieve other clerical/administration staff at Carramar, Liverpool, Black town and Auburn offices as required Travel between Carramar, Liverpool, Black town and Auburn offices when required
  • Take responsibility for distribution of „Refugee Transitions‟ magazines and other material as directed
  • Assist in maintenance of WHS issues in office.

  • Open up the Centre at 8.30am sharp, secure and close the Centre 5.00pm

The scope of the role includes:

Duties:
        Front of house and register work. 
        Responsible for keeping café area clean, neat, and orderly
        Responsible for following Health Department standards and requirements
        Responsible for keeping all items stocked
        Serves as a customer service contact for members at the café, including: answering questions, welcoming, and other member communications
        Attends staff meetings
        Follows daily and weekly duties
        Maintains a thorough knowledge base regarding espresso, coffee, Apex products, bakery items, and smoothies, and is able to communicate such information to customers in order to better inform them of their dietary choices
        Responsible for operation and maintenance of the cash register, and handling of café income
        Maintains professionalism when not assisting customers; avoids eating, sitting, reading, watching TV, or any other activities that are not work-related
        Other duties as assigned
        Regular casual work
Requirements:
        Must be well presented, a self starter, confident, responsible and mature.
        Must be available 9am to 5pm with occasional evening work. 
        Must be highly motivated
        Experience in food and beverage service is preferred
        Experience in a health club or the hospitability industry is preferred
        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
        Good organizational skills
        An understanding of food and beverage operations
        Experience is preferred, however, for the right person training will be provided.
